Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III review: S to the third

Introduction
Today is no ordinary day for the GSMArena test track, which is about to see the Bugatti Veyron of smartphones do the rounds in an attempt to beat the lap record of its predecessor. Samsung have spared no effort to protect the Galaxy S III against any odds. What we get as a result is the most amazing blend of performance and features we are likely to see this year.

The Koreans took their time with the new flagship, giving the predecessor a full year at the helm. But they were taking no chances and they’ve got the spec sheet to prove it. With most of the hardware made by Samsung themselves, the Galaxy S III is an endless list of mind-blowing numbers. The quad-core beast packs a 720p Super AMOLED screen and a massive battery, but keeps its slim waistline.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Here’s the underwater part:

A long list of assets and a rather short list of cons speak volumes about the amount of effort that went into building the Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III. Were they just trying to improve each and every aspect of the user experience over the Galaxy S II, or was creating the ultimate droid their goal all along? The more we think about it, the more it looks the same.

Samsung are in a way raising their own bar yet again. But the competition hasn’t been idle either. We’ve seen proof already that the Galaxy S III is a smartphone that thrives on a challenge. It now has the stage all to itself. You could call it a curtain call if the story of the Galaxy S III wasn’t just about to begin.
First sample photos from the Sony Xperia GX appear
The first camera samples from the 13MP camera of the Sony Xperia GX are out (through unofficial means, but still). The shots themselves are taken with an pre-release unit and indoors under not-so-good lighting, so it’s too early to be talking image quality, but this leak still holds some very interesting details.
First off, the photos were taken at the DoCoMo Smartphone Lounge where a demo unit of the Xperia GX was available. The shots have 4128 x 3096 resolution, which falls short of 13 million pixels. The EXIF data reports an F/2.4 aperture and 4mm focal length.

The device’s model is listed as “SO-04D” – matching the model number of NTT DoCoMo’s device – but the person who took the shots claims the device on display was actually the rumored international version of the Xperia GX (the one with the Xperia logo above the screen).
Sony is still mum on whether the GX (and the SX too) will see an international launch. And it’s odd that the international version would be displayed at the DoCoMo lounge. So, it goes without saying that a non-Japanese Xperia GX is still only a rumor.

We’re introducing a search widget that is easy to use (for webmasters and users alike) and provides condensed info for a wide variety of phones and tablets. The widget has an intuitive interface and shows product images, so it will hopefully make finding the desired device pretty simple.

When expanded, the widget provides condensed info on a device’s availability, physical dimensions, screen, camera, chipset and storage. If the full specifications are needed, there’s a link to our site at the bottom too.
When collapsed, the widget is just a single line so the impact on your site’s design and screen real estate is kept to a minimum. We’ve done our best to optimize the search widget for both wide and narrow layouts. The narrow layout is for sidebars that are between 320px and 400px (in those cases the narrow version is chosen automatically, you don’t need to make any corrections to the code).
The widget can be used with a traditional mouse/keyboard setup, or with a touchscreen device. Internet Explorer 8+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera and smartphone browsers are all supported.
Here’s what webmasters who want to use our search widget on their site need to do: simply include the following JavaScript file in the location on your page where you would like the widget to be – the script will handle the rest.

شب گذشته سامسونگ از کهکشان جدید خود پرده برداشت و به صورت رسمی Galaxy s3 را در لندن معرفی کرد.کهکشان سوم سامسونگ که پیش از معرفی نیز خبرساز شده بود و برخی امکانات آن افشا شده بود ، با معرفی رسمی این اسمارت فون تمامی خبرهای منتشر شده در مورد آن رنگ حقیقت به خودگرفت.
سامسونگ با تولید اسمارت فون های سری Galaxy خود نشن داد که می تواند یک برند تاثیرگذار در دنیای گوشی های اندروئیدی باشد و با معرفی Galaxy s3 قصد دارد تا نبض اندروئیدفون ها را در دست بگیرد.در ادامه با برخی امکانات کهکشان سوم سامسونگ که اکثر آنها قبل از معرفی رسمی نیز برای دوستداران اندروئیدفون های سامسونگ مشخص شده بود آشنا می شویم.
گل سرسبد سامسونگ دارای پردازنده ۴ هسته ای (quad-core) و صفحه نمایش ۴٫۸ اینچی با رزولیشن ۷۲۰p است که از تکنولوژی Super AMO LED بهره می برد.دوربین ۸ مگاپیکسلی آن در کنار اندروئید Ice Cream Sandwich از دیگر مشخصات تازه ترین کهکشان سامسونگ است.شیشه Gorilla glass2 که به صورت پوششی بر روی صفحه نمایش قرار می گیرد نیز زیبایی خاصی به آن داده است.
دو مشخصه جدید در Galaxy s3 آن را با نمونه قبلی متمایز می سازد:
۱- فرمان صوتی (phone – S Voice) آن است که مشابه سیری در آیفون عمل می کند.شما با قابلیت S اضافه شده در این اسمارت فون می توانید وضعیت آب و هوا را بپرسید،از گوشی بخواهید تا تصاویر را مرور کند.مهمترین ویژگی فرمان صوتی Galaxy s3 پشتیبانی از شش زبان مختلف است.
۲- دنبال کردن حرکت چشم (eye-tracking) . حالت ردیابی چشم که سامسونگ آن را Smart Stay می نامد و در تماس های ویدئویی کاربرد دارد را دارنده این اسمارت فون می تواند خاموش و یا فعال کند.
طراحی Galaxy s3 به شکلی است که چهار گوشه آن دارای انحنا بوده و از نظر بسیاری از دوستداران کهکشان سامسونگ آن را زشت کرده است.هر چند صفحه نمایش این گوشی تا ۴٫۸ اینچ بزرگ شده است اما حمل آن بسیاز راحت است چرا که وزن آن نزدیک به ۱۳۳ گرم بوده و برای یک گوشی با این اندازه وزنی ایده آل خواهد بود.
Galaxy s3 در حال حاضر در دو رنگ آبی تیره و سفید مرمری عرضه شده است و از جنس پلاستیک نرم است که سامسونگ آن را به صورت انحصاری Hyperglaze نامگذاری کرده است. دارای یک باطری ۲,۱۰۰mAh به همراه یک اسلات هایی برای microSD و microSIM در پشت گوشی است.حافظه داخلی آن در سه حالت ۱۶گیگ ، ۳۲ گیگ و ۶۴ گیگ خواهد بود.
اندروئید نسخه ۴٫۰٫۴ آن نیز جای هیچ گونه تعجبی برای یک اسمارت فون در این رده نیست!چرا که دارای یک پردازنده ۴ هسته ای Cortex-A9 و با رم ۱ گیگ است.از نظر دکمه های ظاهری نیز با نسخه های قبلی خود تفاوتی نداشته و دارای یک دکمه فیزیکی و دو دکمه لمسی است.
ویژگی دیگری که سامسونگ آن را Smart alert می نامد ، تشخصی می دهد که شما گوشی را در دست گرفته اید و در صورت دوربودن از شما و گم کردن لحظه ای آن تولید ویبره می کند.نوآوری و تکنولوژی این گوشی به همین جا ختم نمی شود چرا که دارای یک ویژگی دیگری به نام Pop-up Play است که در صورت مشاهد فیلم می توان آن را تبدیل به یک صفحه کوچکتر کرده و به صورت همزمان با گوشی کار کرد .(هم کلیپ ببین هم اس ام اس بده !)
دوربین ۸ مگاپیکسلی آن به شکلی است که امکان شات گرفتن ۳٫۳ در ثانیه را می دهد و بهترین عکس را از بین عکس های گرفته شده انتخاب می کند.زوم تصویری آن به شکلی است که می توان به صورت همزمان بر روی چهره دو نفر زوم کرد و به صورت اتوماتیک چهره افراد را در تصویر برای این کار تشخیص می دهد.
مشابه سری HTC one در حالت فیلمبرداری می تواند ۱۰۸۰p را ضبط کند.همچنین در حالت فیلمبرداری از تکنولوژی تثبیت کننده تصویر ( stabilization) بهره می برد.
دارای یک چراغ LED برای notification است که در صورت دریافت اس ام اس و یا میل اطلاع می دهد.
Galaxy s3 در نتایجBenchmark نیز بسیار عالی عمل کرده است و توانسته تا در مقایسه با سایر رقیبان هم رده خود به خوبی محک بخورد.
اولین بررسی مربوط به Quadrant است که Galaxy s3 با داشتن هسته ای Cortex-A9 ۱٫۴GHz ۳۲nm و داشتن GPU ای Mali-400MP به همراه ۱ گیگ رم دارای عملکردی بهتر بوده است.استفاده Galaxy s3 از GPU ی Mali-400MP باعث شد تا در مقایسه با HTC ONE X در رده بالاتری قرار بگیرد.
بررسی دوم مربوط به SunSpider است که مربوط به سرعت پردازنده است و در این بنچ مارک نیز Galaxy s3 نیز به لطف پردازنده قوی خود(۳۲nm 1.4GHz Cortex-A9) توانسته است از رقبای خود پیشی بگیرد.
Galaxy s3 در بنچ مارک BrowserMark نیز فوق العاده عمل می کند چرا که در آزمون HTML5 با امتیازی بالا در مقایسه با رقبای خود بالاترین عملکرد را دارد.
کهکشان جدید سامسونگ با امکانات و مشخصاتی که اشاره شد نشان داد که قصد دارد تا تمام توجهات را متوجه خود کرده و خود را به عنوان برترین گوشی حال حاضر بازار معرفی کند.باید دید با معرفی آیفون بعدی اپل سامسونگ می تواند به این هدف خود برسد یا خیر.باید منتظر ماند تا آیفون جدید رقیب اصلی Galaxy s3 وارد گود شود.

جایگاه موبایل در اینترنت جهانی
موبایل در حال حاضر ۱۰ درصد از استفاده جهانی از اینترنت را تشکیل می دهد که با احتساب افزایش تقاضا و استفاده از اسمارت فون ها به همراه تبلت ها ، اتصال به اینترنت از طریق موبایل در طول ۱۸ ماه گذشته بیش از دو برابر شده است.آسیا فعال ترین منطقه ای است که از موبایل برای اتصال به اینترنت استفاده می کند و بیش از ۱۸ درصد از وبگردی از طریق موبایل را به خود اختصاص داده است. در این بین افزایش قابل ملاحظه ای برای اتصال به اینترنت از طریق موبایل در دو منطقه اروپا و افریقا را شاهد هستیم.
اینترنت همراه در جهان بیش از ۱۰٫۰۱ درصد از کل نت گردی ها را تشکیل می دهد و با آمار تنها ۳٫۸۱ درصدی که در سال ۲۰۱۰ از اینترنت همراه وجود داشت ، شاهد رشد چشمگیر استفاده از اینترنت از طریق موبایل و تبلت هستیم.شرکت اپل با فروش ۳۲ میلیون آیفون و حدود ۱۲ آی پد در آخرین فروش ماه اخیر ، به تنهایی تاثیر زیاد خود را در وب همراه نشان می دهد و با افزایش ۴۰ درصدی سالانه در استفاده از اسمارت فون ها با رشدی ۱۴۴٫۹ واحدی در طول مدت سه ماه شاهد هستیم.
کشور هند با ۴۸٫۸۷ درصد ، در صدر کشورهای استفاده کننده از اینترنت همراه بوده و سایر کشورهایی که بیشترین ترافیک استفاده از اینترنت همراه را دارند در افریقا بوده و کشورهای آسیایی نیز بعد از افریقا در رده دوم بیشترین کاربران اینترنت همراه هستند.
طبق آمار در ۱۸ ماه گذشته ، شاهد افزایش اتصال اینترنت از طریق موبایل بوده ایم به طوری که از ۶٫۱ درصد به ۱۷٫۸۴ درصد رسیده است .این نتایج در افریقا ، آسیا و منطقه اقیانوسیه بیش از سایر مناطق است این در حالی است که دسترسی به اینترنت از طریق اسمارت فون ها و تبلت ها در اروپا نسبت به سایر مناطق راحت تر بوده ولی طبق آمار نسبت به مناطق یاد شده در رتبه پایین تری در استفاده از اینترنت همراه قرار دارد.
البته این نکته را نیز باید در نظر گرفت که در بسیاری از کشورها مانند هند دسترسی به رایانه های شخصی با محدودیت همراه بوده و دارای قیمت بالایی هستند و با در نظر گرفتن فراهم نبودن زیرساخت های لازم برای دسترسی به اینترنت از طریق پی سی ها ، اینترنت همراه مقرون به صرفه بوده و این امر در امار ارائه شده تاثیرگذار بوده است.
اتصال به اینترنت از طریق موبایل در برخی شرکت ها و سایت ها مانند توییتر که تمرکز مستمری به آن داشته اند ، اهمیت خود را نشان داده است چرا که بسیاری از بازارهای جهانی را نیز می توان از طریق اینترنت همراه به دست آورد و در این بین شرکت هایی مانند بلک بری با تولید اسمارت فون های ارزان به ارتباطات اینترنت همراه نیز کمک کرده اند.

به صورت احمقانه از فلش گوشی استفاده نکنید !
امروز مطلبی رو دیدم که به عنوان یک نصیحت گجتی ! خیلی جالب بود چرا که اکثر دارندگان اسمارت فون ها آن را رعایت نمی کنند.در جریان مسابقه پلی آف بین دو تیم Heat و Pacers از سری مسابقات بسکتبال NBA اسکرین شاتی از لحظه عکسبرداری یکی ازبسکتبال دوستان گرفته شده است که به نظر کار احمقانه ای در نحوه عکسبرداری با گوشی خود کره است چرا که برای گرفتن عکس از دو بازیکن سرشناس به نام های David West و LeBron James با استفاده از آیفون خود ، از فلش گوشی استفاده کرده است.
دلیل احمقانه خواندن این کار ، بی فایده بودن استفاده از فلش در جریان مسابقات ورزشی در حال انجام در سالن های ورزشی است چون در سالن های ورزشی به نکته ای که خیلی به آن توجه می شود مناسب بودن نور سالن ورزشی است چون داخل سالن از نور کافی برای برگزاری و مشاهده بهتر مسابقه برخوردار است پس استفاده از فلش برای گرفتن عکس از بازیکنان محبوب تیم های ورزشی بی مورد است.
البته نکته ای که باید به آن توجه کرد، در نظر گرفتن فاصله گوشی تا آبجکت مورد نظر است .به عنوان مثال در جریان همین مسابقه بسکتبال و فاصله نزدیکی که بین تماشاگر تا جریان مسابقه ، آن هم در ردیف جلو ، وجود دارد استفاده از فلش در فاصله ی به این نزدیکی جالب نیست و باعث ایجاد روشنایی بیش از حد در عکس گرفته شده می شود که کیفیت عکس را کاهش می دهد.
رعایت این نکته برای عکاسی با اسمارت فون در جریان مسابقات مختلف ورزشی که برای تماشاگران نیز بسیار شایع است به گرفتن عکس های زیبا و با کیفیت کمک خواهد کرد.اصلا مهم نیست که شما یک عکاس حرفه ای نیستید چرا که عکس گرفته شده توسط شما ازبازیکن محبوب خود فقط برای ثبت لحظات ناب ورزشی خواهد بود اما رعایت همین نکته باعث زیبایی بیشتر این لحظات شیرین خواهد شد.

WP reportedly overtakes iPhone in China with 7% of market
While 7% of the Chinese smartphone market may seem like nothing to get excited about (especially considering Android had a staggering 68.4% last time we checked), it is an impressive statistic if you take into account that two months ago, not a single WP-powered device was for sale in China.
Growth of this speed has only been seen in one other market so far: Nokia’s backyard of Finland. Reports also indicate that WP is gaining tracktion in Russia too.
Furthermore, Michel van der Bel, COO of Greater China Region for Microsoft, claims that the campaign in China is only just getting started, with Microsoft having deployed a 2,500 person R&D team to focus exclusively on the Asian market.
We do take the explosive growth figure with a grain of salt, however, since there are hints that the original source may have misinterpreted the statistics to mean the entire market, as opposed to just one operator. For now, though, it seems that WP is getting some major love in China.
LG Optimus TrueHD LTE goes on sale in Portugal
It seems that LG are keeping true to their word, as the LG Optimus TrueHD LTE is at long last available in Europe.
The device, which has only been available in North America and Korea until now, had previously been announced by LG for a limited European launch in three markets: Portugal, Germany and Sweden.
Portuguese retailer Vodafone has the device listed as the LG Maximo True HD LTE, due to naming conflicts with local mobile operator Optimus Telecomunicações.
The Gingerbread-running LG Optimus/Maximo TrueHD LTE has dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU, 4GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM, a 4.5 inch HD (720 x 1280) display, and an 8MP camera that can shoot full HD video, and is listed at 489.90.
We’ll let you know if we hear anything else about the other markets of the TrueHD LTE – namely Sweden and Germany.

LG LS970 Eclipse 4G leaks again, has NFC and removable battery
The monstrous LG LS970 Eclipse 4G LTE broke cover once again, revealing two more bits of its specs sheet. In case you missed it the first time around, the Sprint-bound smartphone packs a quad-core Krait processor (at 1.5GHz), 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera, LTE-connectivity and a 4.67″ 1280x768px LCD.
Anyway, the new spy shot shows the LS970 with its back cover off, which reveals “LS970″ engraved on the chassis. We get to see that the 2100mAh Li-Po battery is user removable and there’s NFC connectivity available, too.

Interestingly, there’s a hole in the back cover, but it’s unclear if it serves a specific purpose or it’s just that this particular unit is damaged (the hole seems too irregular to be on purpose).
The LG LS970 Eclipse 4G LTE is still unofficial and the rumor mill is quiet on expected availability dates, but we do know it’s headed for Sprint. LG has another droid with 2GB of RAM – the Optimus LTE2 – though that’s South Korea-only for now and it only has a dual-core Krait processor.
Galaxy S III gets 9 million pre-orders from 100 global carriers
Korea Economic Daily is reporting that the Samsung Galaxy S III has received over 9 million pre-orders from 100 carriers around the world. This information comes courtesy of a Samsung official who remains anonymous.
Whichever way you look at it, that’s an impressive figure. We knew the Galaxy S III was going to sell big but these numbers are much higher than what we would have bet on. It’s predecessor, the Galaxy S II, took 10 months to ship 20 million units and the Galaxy S III took two weeks to reach almost half of that. Also, these are pre-order figures, not shipments, and are almost as good as actual sales figures.
Looks like Samsung has another winner on their hands. Obviously, this does not bode well for rivals such as HTC and LG. And even though this figure is nowhere close to the iPhone 4S pre-orders, Apple should be feeling the heat as well, especially considering the 9 million figure excludes Apple’s key market, the US of A.
ICS-powered HTC Desire C up for pre-order in the UK
The HTC Desire C, which was officially announced on Tuesday, is now up for pre-order on the UK retailer Clove’s website.
The Desire C is one of the first entry-level smartphones to feature the latest version of Android 4.0, and has some competitive specs to boot. For £189.99 you’ll get a 3.5″ HVGA display, 600MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and a 5MP shooter. The version which Clove will be shipping is the one with NFC connectivity too.
Expect the Desire C to be available in other European markets soon as well, with its price ranging around 200.
This might be the international Sony Xperia GX on video
When Sony announced the 13.2MP Xperia GX, many people complained about the “Japan-only” availability. Well, there just might be an international version of the phone in the works.
A couple of hands-on videos have popped up on YouTube that show a smartphone identical to the Sony Xperia GX, except for the NTT DoCoMo branding on top which has been replaced by an Xperia logo. Here’s one of the videos in question:
You can compare that to the official promo video of the Japan-bound Xperia GX – you clearly see the NTT DoCoMo logo.
Why keep the Sony logo on the bottom instead of the top (where it is on other international Sony phones)? Well, that bottom logo is illuminated, so it serves as a notification light and moving it to the top might require too much re-engineering.
Of course, this is hardly the most clear evidence, so don’t raise your hopes too much just yet.
Phones4U offers 32GB microSD card, flip case with S III preorders
It seems that the UK is a great place to get a Samsung Galaxy S III – Phones4U is the latest retailer to offer a little something extra if you place your orders there. If you pre-order an S III, you’ll get a free 32GB microSD card along with a genuine Samsung case – the Flip Case – for the your new flagship droid.
The deal goes for both the Blue and the White Galaxy S III units and the free memory card, will give you total storage of 48GB. Phones4U offers the S III with contracts on Vodafone, Orange and O2, there doesn’t seem to be a SIM-free version.
Phones4U still lists the delivery date as May 30, though they still have a chance to change their mind and move the launch to the 29th.
For more deals, you might want to check the Carphone Warehouse (they also have deals for Three). If you pre-order from them, you’ll score a 16GB microSD card, an in-car charger and a screen protector (at first they offered a free Galaxy Tab 10.1, but that deal ended pretty swiftly).
